Graham Taylor Building , The Downs School

New Build

Over the summer of 2006 the £3.2M Graham Taylor Building at The Downs School in Compton, Berkshire was completed.

Integrated Design Consultants were employed by Wilmot Dixon (Contractor) as the multi-discipline design team on this design and build project.

The new three storey teaching block consists of facilities for staff use; together with sixth form accommodation. Art rooms and ancillary accommodation are on the third floor, where they take advantage of the dynamic space and quality of light available at that level. The new building is connected to the existing school buildings by a feature bridge at first floor clad in Red Cedar.

The contract was completed in time for the start of the academic year September 2006.
