The project was divided into two phases, the construction of a new two-storey Design and Technology Block, together with the remodelling of an existing Art Block.

The new Design and Technology Block consisted of state of the art workshops including a multi-materials room containing all the machinery and tools required by the current curriculum activities, associated facilities, general teaching classrooms and school offices. The Block was designed in a traditional style fit in with the existing listed school buildings with a structure constructed from load bearing brick and block work with timber roof trusses and concrete roof tiles.

The existing Art Block was a two-storey building which had previously been converted into the schools arts facility. Integrated Design Consultant’s internally remodelled the block to form improved open and airy classrooms by the addition of additional roof lights and windows producing working areas flooded with light and more suitable for use for arts education.
